DETAIL & CHALLENGES
Redesign eBook publishing platform, from Korean version to Indonesian version.
Arasoft is a company that develops a digital book platform for writing, publishing, and ebook reading. The products have been published in Korean. For the next step, Arasoft wants to expand its user base to the Indonesian market. In this collaboration project, we will recreate the Arasoft product and adjust it to match the Indonesian market.

Redesign all whole the product from Korean version (except the logo)
User can buy and make the payment within the platform

User are able to withdraw their money
We will change the name from Araebook to Pintu Ara for the Indonesian version
GETTING THE INSIGHTS

Need Time To Learn
The features are too complex and require time for users to understand.
Hierarchy Issue
The Korean version of Araebook lacks visual hierarchy content.
Other Insight
Similar platform: Read Era, Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Gumroad
Other Insight
Common challenges from similar platform: difficult navigation, bookmarking
USER FLOW
Building the Product for Indonesian Market
There are 5 different applications to support the ecosystem for ebook publishing in Arasoft Korea.
Marketplace: Araebook
(Web Based) eBook Reader: Arareader (Web Based), Namo Reader (Desktop Based) eBook Maker: Ara Author (Web Based), Namo Author (Desktop Based)
In this project, we will only focus on developing the Araebook Web-Based App. We simplified the menus and made the process of buying, selling, and reading books straightforward as easy as possible. These changes help users navigate the platform smoothly and enjoy their experience with Araebook.
UI DESIGN & PROTOTYPE
Discover and Purchase
Above is the flow of how users navigate from the homepage, search for books, make payments, and read them online. We are designing multiple ways to purchase books so that users can explore according to their preferences while still maintaining a minimalist impression.
Read Owned eBook
Above is how users access the dashboard and read books they have previously purchased.
Dashboard Exploration
Here is the place where users can manage all their activities on the platform: publishing books, continuing to read, and viewing transaction history. Everything is designed to be as minimal as possible.
Responsive - Mobile Version
To reach a wider user base, we have also developed a responsive version of Araebook for mobile devices with the same features and optimized UX, ensuring that users can comfortably use the platform with any device.

Quick Recap
Pintuara is a remake project of an existing product from Korea, Araebook, which is a marketplace for selling, buying, and publishing eBooks (PDF & ePUB 3.0).
We created this new product specifically for Indonesian users with customized UI preferences.
This project started with simple research (reaching out to office colleagues with suitable customer segment characteristics) followed by UI design and development.
The main challenge was how to translate from Korean to Indonesian and simplify complex features.
Usability tests were conducted to compare the Korean and Indonesian versions with Indonesian users. The results showed that with the new design, we achieved a 100% success rate for all tasks given, whereas the Korean version only reached 55%.
